VELIO PRIVACY POLICY

1. THE VELIO ETHOS
At VELIO FIT LLC, our data philosophy is absolute: you pay for the service; you are not the product. V≡LIO is a coaching app for training, nutrition, and travel. To do that work it needs access to health signals, location, photos you choose to log, and (if you allow it) your calendar density. We treat that data as yours.
We do not sell, rent, or broker your personal data to data brokers, advertisers, or advertising networks. We do not use your data for cross-app tracking. We do not show third-party ads in the app.
2. DATA WE COLLECT
Depending on the permissions you grant and the features you use, we collect:
- Account identity: email address and display name from Sign in with Apple, Google Sign-In, or email (password or magic link). Apple may provide a Hide My Email relay address instead of your personal email.
- Profile you enter: age (13+), height, weight, sex, training experience, and goals (cut / bulk / maintain). We do not invent these values.
- Apple HealthKit (read): with your permission, sleep analysis, heart-rate variability, resting heart rate, steps, active energy, walking/running distance, flights climbed, and workouts already in Apple Health. On Apple Watch we read heart rate during a session so live pace can be shown.
- Apple HealthKit (write): the app is not read-only. With your permission we save completed V≡LIO workouts (and outdoor-run routes when applicable) and logged meals as nutrition samples (energy, protein, carbohydrates, fat, and related nutrients) to Apple Health.
- Meals, workouts, and programs you log in V≡LIO: food photos and voice or typed notes, gym-equipment scans, workout history, saved programs, and travel notes. Meal and gym images are stored in our cloud under your account.
- Location: Home Base, timezone and travel detection, nearby gyms, restaurants, and hotels while you use Radar, and GPS during an outdoor run (including in the background while that run is active).
- Calendar (optional): event titles, attendees, and descriptions stay on your iPhone. We derive busy/free timing on-device and may send only density (event counts, busy minutes, free-block durations) to our coaching backend.
- Camera, microphone, and photo library: used when you capture or pick a meal photo, scan gym equipment, or log by voice. We do not use these sensors for advertising.
- Weather: local forecast for outdoor-run planning via Apple WeatherKit.
- Purchases: V≡LIO+ subscription status through Apple and RevenueCat (see §5). Workplace / complimentary access uses your signed-in email and organization membership, not a second App Store product.
- Device and diagnostics: crash reports and performance breadcrumbs via Firebase Crashlytics. Push tokens so we can send coaching reminders you enable. We do not enable Firebase Analytics auto-collection for advertising.
3. HOW WE USE YOUR DATA
- Authenticate you and keep your dossier, logs, and programs on your account.
- Estimate training load and recovery, and generate or adjust workouts and meal routing.
- Suggest nearby food and training options, and adapt plans when you travel.
- Write workouts and meals back to Apple Health when you have allowed that.
- Process V≡LIO+ billing and restore purchases.
- Send optional notifications (Attention / reminders) you turn on.
- Fix crashes and keep the app reliable.
Health, location, photos, and calendar access are optional at the system level. You can revoke them in iOS Settings. Features that depend on a permission will stop or degrade if you turn it off.
4. HEALTHKIT AND CLOUD PROCESSING
Apple requires that HealthKit data not be used for advertising, or disclosed to advertising / data-broker platforms. We do not do that.
Coaching does leave the device. Recovery signals, nutrition totals, workout summaries, Home Base / travel context, weather, and calendar density (not titles) are sent to our Firebase backend so we can store your history and generate the next plan. Plan generation uses Google Gemini. We send coaching context, not an advertising profile. We configure that provider so your content is not used to train their public models, subject to Google’s then-current API terms.
Apple Health records on your iPhone and Apple Watch remain under Apple’s control. Deleting your V≡LIO account does not erase those Health samples.
5. PROCESSORS AND THIRD PARTIES
We use service providers to run the product. They process data on our instructions, not to sell it:
- Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions, Cloud Messaging) — account, logs, images, server jobs, and push delivery.
- Google Gemini — workout and routing generation from the coaching context described above.
- Google Places — nearby gyms, restaurants, and hotels. Your search location is sent to Google for that lookup.
- Google Sign-In — if you choose Google to create or confirm your account.
- Apple — Sign in with Apple, App Store / StoreKit billing, HealthKit, WeatherKit, push (APNs), and on-device permissions.
- RevenueCat — subscription entitlement (V≡LIO+). Linked to your app-user id, which is your Firebase user id after you sign in.
- Firebase Crashlytics — crash and diagnostic logs. We do not intend HealthKit samples or meal photos to appear in those reports.
Opening a restaurant, maps, or similar link may take you to Apple Maps, Google, or another site with its own policy.
6. YOUR CONTROLS AND ACCOUNT DELETION
You can sign out at any time. Sign out ends the session; it does not erase your cloud dossier. Clear cache only refreshes local images and memory.
To delete your V≡LIO account and the data we hold for it, open the app → Account → Settings → Security → Delete account. You will type DELETE, confirm it is you (device biometrics when available, then Apple, Google, or email), and the wipe runs. That removes your Firebase profile, meal and workout history, programs, stored photos, and sign-in. Organization or complimentary access tied to that account ends.
Deletion does not:
- Erase Apple Health records (those stay with Apple until you delete them there).
- Cancel an App Store subscription by itself. If you pay for V≡LIO+ through Apple, billing may continue until you cancel in Apple ID → Subscriptions (the delete sheet links there).
The wipe is permanent. Signing in again with the same Apple, Google, or email creates a new empty V≡LIO account. Restore Purchases may restore V≡LIO+ on that empty account; training history does not come back.
You can also revoke Sign in with Apple for V≡LIO in Apple ID settings on your device, and revoke Health, Location, Camera, Microphone, Photos, Calendar, and Notifications in iOS Settings.
7. RETENTION
We keep account and log data while the account exists, and for a short period in backups or logs after deletion as needed to operate the service securely. Crash reports are kept according to Firebase Crashlytics defaults. Apple and Google retain identity and billing records under their own policies.
8. CHILDREN
V≡LIO is not directed at children under 13. The in-app age control will not accept an age below 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.
9. TRACKING
We do not request App Tracking Transparency permission. We do not use your data to track you across other companies’ apps and websites for advertising. Diagnostics are for reliability, not ads.
10. CHANGES
We will update this page when the product’s data practices change. The date at the top is the latest revision. Material changes will be reflected here before they apply to a shipping binary that Reviewers can download.
